US Housing's History

US Housing started as www.davishousing.com in February of 1997. The site was created by a group of students at the University of California, Davis (UCD) as a way for other students to find housing. After only a year the site had received over 1 million impressions and it was decided to launch the concept in other college markets. In March of 1998 a similar site was released in Chico with similar results. Later in June of 1998 work began on the Business Plan and national deployment strategy.

In October of 1998 US Housing LLC was formed and in March of 1999 US Housing launched in seven additional college markets and quickly received in excess of 450,000 impressions per month. The national expansion plan was completed in May of 1999 and in July of 1999 US Housing bought sacramentoapartments.com. In September of 1999 US Housing begain to increase its coverage to an additional 500 Colleges and Universities in the United States. On October 1, 1999 US Housing launched www.housing101.net as way to organize its housing resources for college students. In January of 2000 US Housing had over 200 sites covered and in September of 2000 the entire United States and over 2,000 schools will be covered.

Currently, US Housing has coverage in over 1200 college sites and everywhere in between. Our database has over 150,000 apartment communities representing over 11 million units.
